On September 11th, Shouguang Charity Federation and Shandong Xinlong Group held the “Hand in Hand with Orphans” relief fund distribution ceremony.

Zhang Tianhua, secretary of the party group and director of Shouguang Civil Affairs Bureau, Li Fazen, chairman of Shandong Xinlong Group, Li Hongyun, member of the party group of Shouguang Civil Affairs Bureau and director of the Community Work Service Center, and Sun Hao, director of the Shouguang Social Aid Service Center, attended the distribution ceremony. Some of the sponsored students and lead teachers also attended. The ceremony was presided over by Sun Hao, and Li Fazeng and Zhang Tianhua made speeches successively.

Being kind and charitable, helping the poor and the needy is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. In order to further protect the legitimate rights and interests of orphans and safeguard their right to education, under the leadership of the Shouguang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, with the strong support of all walks of life, Shouguang Charity Federation, in conjunction with Xinlong Group, carried out the “Hand in Hand with Orphans” relief activity in August. The activity took out more than 80,800 RMB from Xinlong Fund for Orphans to rescue 21 orphans, including 1 kindergarten student, 10 high school and middle school students, and 10 college students. The fund aimed to help them complete their education and return to society in the future.

Shandong Xinlong Group is a high-tech enterprise with many patents and famous products. Over the years, no matter how difficulty the enterprise is, it always dedicates to give back to society. It actively participates in charitable and public welfare undertakings, which sets an example for the city’s major enterprises. In 2007, when Shouguang Charity Federation was established, under the initiative of Li Fazen, Shandong Xinlong Group invested 10 million RMB to set up the Xinlong Fund for Orphans, which was increased to 20 million RMB in 2011 to provide whole-process and follow-up assistance to orphan students from kindergarten to doctoral graduation. This year marks the 17th anniversary of the establishment of the fund. Over the past sixteen years, Xinlong Fund for Orphans has issued a total of more than 2.95 million RMB and provided assistance to 899 orphan students, with 226 students graduating and being a man contributive to society, including 6 postgraduates (1 doctorate, 5 masters), 101 college students, and 119 senior high school and junior high school students.

Orphan aid is a matter of merit and benefit for the present and the future, which reflects the concern of Shouguang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Shandong Xinlong Group and all walks of life for the charity and orphan students. We hope that the recipient students will cherish the support, try their best to learn knowledge and enhance their abilities, so that they can give back to their hometowns and the country in the future.
